All team members have been actively involved with action sports, enabling a perfect mix of industry experience combined with a huge passion for putting something back into the grass roots of action sports
MATT WALTON - Managing Director
Matt has worked within new media, ecommerce and telecoms for 18 years and has held director and senior management positions in a number of innovative companies including Virgin, Orange and Vodafone to name a few.
Matt has specialised in setting up global partnership programmes with a focus on delivering global and pan European business solutions, utilising internet and mobile technologies. He has also been an executive coach helping senior executives create result driven environments and motivational team structures.
Matt has always been involved with combat and action sports since an early age. Bought up in Devon & Cornwall, Matt is a keen surfer, wakeboarder and mountain biker. Matt’s number 1 passion has always been boxing. He has been actively involved with boxing since he was 8 and Muay Thai Boxing for 20 years.
To widen his knowledge, Matt started BJJ in 2000 and then spent a number of years training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, with Roger Gracie and Phillipe Souza. This was halted when he herniated L5 and S1 disks in 2005.
From a commercial and sporting background, the coaching and skills Matt provides incorporates a lot of the core skills and techniques from sport and martial arts, but also combines it with key personal development skills like NLP and CBT to improve overall confidence and self belief through acheivement of goals and targets.
Matt is also the President for the Knockout Bullying campaign in partnership with Kidscape.
KRIS BARBER - Product Development Director
Kris has worked in the clothing industry for over 20 years and has been responsible for developing brands and product lines for some of the best known clothing companies in the world of fashion and sportswear.
His industry knowledge covers all aspects of design and product development, sourcing directly from specialist manufacturers and establishing supply chains.
Always looking to the future Kris has recently partnered with a UK company to produce exclusive ECO friendly clothing ranges made from recycled materials and is proud to introduce this technology into the collections produced for SPIKED.
Kris has always been interested in Action Sports and has been a keen surfer, skier and skateboarder since the late ‘70’s, he is now fortunate to work in an industry that enables him wear his product while enjoying a fun lifestyle.
NATASHA JASPER CRUSE - Marketing Manager
Natasha Jasper-Cruse has recently joined SPIKED action sports as our lead Marketing Consultant.
Natasha has been working in marketing and events for over 13 years developing strategic marketing campaigns ATL and BTL within companies such as Virgin Retail and Which Ltd?
Natasha spent 10 years developing brand campaigns and events client side. More recently, over the past 3 years, Natasha has set up her own agency and is freelancing for principal clients looking for additional marketing support, in particular event management.
We are delighted to have her on board here at SPIKED. Natasha is proven at being strategic, motivated, well-organised and extremely experienced at coordinating communication initiatives. Highly creative and totally client focused, she will always go that extra mile and much of her success is due to personal recommendations. Outside work, Natasha enjoys a challenge. She is a keen snowboarder, loves marathon running and every year walks 100 miles in 4 days for charity. Every little helps!

ROB GRIST - Editor in Chief
Rob has been involved with action sports for over 10 years, shooting some of the top athletes in MOTOX, BMX, MTB to name a few. Rob has been involved with providing photogrpahy for some of the biggest action sports magazines in the world and continues to do so.
Rob is a great asset to the SPIKED team, travelling up and down the country interviewing and photographing some incredible athletes who are inspirational in the world of action sports.
