Spiked Inspirational Athlete - Anna Turney

SPIKED are pleased to introduce Anna Turney as their first signing for  “The SPIKED Inspirational Athletes Programme”, which is heavily featured in each issue of the SPIKED parkour and action sports magazine, now available through the high street, Asda supermarkets and through subscription, delivered worldwide to over 22 countries.

SPIKED have lead the way into re-focusing action sports for the good of the people, by promoting social inclusion, building confidence through participation in sports and living a healthy lifestyle.  To effectively deliver this meesage, the objectives have to be at the heart of the proposition.

The “Inspirational Athletes Programme” has been created to really focus and promote truly inspirational people that are true role models, due to their commitment, achievements and attitude to life even when the odds seem to be stacked against them.

Anna Turney has been a true inspiration to the SPIKED team and we now want to give you, the opportunity to receive regular updates on Anna’s stories, achievements and progress through the MONO SKIING world.

In summary, Anna snowboarded for 10years until she was paralysed in 2006.  She has monoskied since 2007.

In 2009 she participated in the World Championships and came an incredible 4th, then went on to the New Zealand Winter games and achieved an awesome silver medal.  Vancouver 2010 Paralympics has been the most recent competition, where she battled to a credible 6th  in Slalom.

Here at SPIKED we wish Anna all the best with her training for the 2011 World Championships and we will follow her journey to the 2014 Sochi Paralympics where she aims to bring back the gold medal!
